About
Mount Washington is a mountain on the eastern edge of the Vancouver Island Ranges of BC and the site of the popular Mount Washington Alpine Resort. The Resort is a year-round recreation destination. In the winter guests enjoy accessing over 1,700 acres and 505 vertical metres of alpine terrain, 55 kms of cross-country skiing and 25 kms of snowshoeing trails along with a dedicated Nordic lodge, Tube Park and Fat Bike trails. The resort is home to a rising generation of Winter Olympic and Team Canada Athletes.
In addition to winter skiing, in the summer Mount Washington has many trails for mountain bikers, and offers scenic chair lifts and hiking trails to visitors. In 2019 a new 2.3 kilometre ZipTour opened. At the base of the chairlifts you can also find a quad bungy trampoline. Last but not least there is disc golf and miniature golf and lots of lunch and dining options.
Mount Washington is home to the Vancouver Island marmot, one of the planet's most endangered mammals. Found in the wild only on Vancouver Island, the marmot differs significantly from other marmot species.
