Sea Walk
a 6 km paved walkway along the ocean.
About
The Rotary Beach Seawalk is a 6 kilometre paved walkway that follows the pebbled and sandy shores of the Discovery Passage. The Seawalk runs parallel to Highway 19A. Both the highway and the walkway provide fantastic marine views. On any given day you can observe the comings and goings of sailboats, fishing vessels, kayakers, cargo ships and cruise liners.
There are picnic tables, viewing benches, grass lawns and sandy beaches located along the walkway. You will come across some chainsaw art wood carvings. Many of the carvings are located in the Rotary Beach Park which connects to the walkway. The Campbell River Shoreline Arts Society organizes a carving competition, called "Transformations on the Shore" in June each year. The event takes place at the Frank James Park, which is where many people start their Seawalk stroll. Visitors and local residents love to watch the carvers at work and enjoy the carvings that are left along the Sea Walk and throughout the City of Campbell River.
